I CURRENTLY TEACH SKATING at two Delaware facilities: the High Performance Training Center at the University of Delaware in Newark, and The Skating Club of Wilmington in North Wilmington. As a skating professional since 1988, I have coached numerous Philadelphia Area and South Atlantic Regional champions, and USFS Gold test medalists (all whom I developed from the Basic Skills "grass-roots" levels), along with recreational adults, toddlers, synchronized teams, and hundreds of college students, many for whom skating is an entirely novel experience. I feel this diversity in experiences has helped make me more skillful as an instructor, and has added a healthy and balanced perspective to my work. While recent motherhood now limits my ability to serve as a full-time competitive coach, I still enjoy passing on my expertise and enthusiasm to new young pupils just getting started and to veteran competitors seeking supplemental training on a part-time basis. |
